Jonah is 17 years-old, and the youngest SISU coach. He is a sports junky, especially when it comes to action sports. From the age of 8-15, he was a competitive snowboarder. He trained with the junior USA team, and competed in the USA snowboard nationals 8 consecutive years. He had 7 top 10 finishes, and was a bronze medalist in 2013. Unfortunately, Jonah broke his back one year in the off-season, and could do no physical activity. After 8 months of sitting around, he found myself in pretty bad shape. That’s when he found CrossFit.  In July of 2014 he started at the excelsior gym, and ever since then, he’s been hooked. At first, he was doing CrossFit to become a better snowboarder. but after spending a lot of time in the gym, he realized that he wanted to become better at the sport of CrossFit.

So, he decided he wasn’t going to snowboard anymore, and now he’s moved on to some exciting work. Jonah now does public speaking about generation differences in the workplace, and how best to work with his generation, Gen Z. He co-authored a book with his dad, all about Gen Z.

Now, after almost three years of being at CrossFit SISU, he is in better shape than he ever thought he would be in, and is loving coaching.

I CrossFit because…

I have always been a VERY competitive person, and CrossFit SISU offers the perfect environment to constantly push myself to get better. I also love how every day I do something different, and that I no longer think of it as working out, it’s more like training.

I Coach because…

I coach because getting the privilege to work with athletes that are driven and focused is something that I think is so cool. Seeing people get stronger and healthier every time they come to the gym is something that inspires me.
