Josh was a three sport athlete growing up, playing baseball, football and wrestling. After high school, he decided to give up competitive sports. It wasn’t until college that fitness became a part of his life. With his interest and passion for fitness, he decided to change his career path. After college, he went to work for Lifetime Fitness as a personal trainer in 2012. A year into his personal training career, a friend encouraged him to come to Crossfit Sisu in Excelsior. He was hesitant at first, dropping in once a week. He really enjoyed the Sisu community and the competitive side of Crossfit. After a few months of weekly drop-in’s, he became a full time member. Soon after joining Sisu, he saw a re-run of the 2013 Crossfit games on TV, he instantly found his new passion and decided that he wanted to be a competitive athlete.
I CrossFit because…
Crossfit changed my life. It has completely gave me a new outlook on what fitness is. I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, both mentally and physically. I push myself harder than I ever though possible. Even if I’m having a bad day, I always look forward to the workout and to see my friends.
I coach because….
I’m very passionate about Crossfit and living a healthy lifestyle. I would like to share my passion with my peers and help them succeed in reaching their fitness goals. I was very fortunate to have great coaching when I started Crossfit and would like to carry that on as coach.
My secret ninja exercise is….
Anything gymnastic, but handstand walking is definitely my jam.
My not so secret sucky is…
My strength is definitely my weakness, but I’m working on that. If I had to pick one thing , it’s heavy barbell snatches. WOOF!
My favorite cheat meal is…
SWEETS: cupcakes, doughnuts, cake…Keep them away from me or I’ll eat all of them, seriously!
